Will and Kate

I guess many people around the world (in whatever time zone) stayed glued to their televisions and computers, looking on as the future King of England wed his beautiful bride, Ms. Kate Middleton.  I didnt watch it yet, but plan to this evening, when the show a re-run on our local network.

Ms. Middleton, now Duchess of Cambridge, was once a commoner like you and me!  How frikkin cool is that!  Its wayyyyy  very freaking cool!!!  Whilst this fact is indeed one of epic "coolness", there are one or two points about it that I'd like to observe:

1.  This union between a social "regular" and a "royal" brings back a certain amount of romanticism into today's world which is filled with cynicism about love.  It helps us to see that sometimes dreams do come true where love is concerned.  I also give me a renewed sense of hope that one day, the man of my dreams will come along!  My Prince Charming will one day sweep me off my feet and ride off into the sunset.... hopefully that one day will be soon. I am not getting any younger.

2.  Bearing in mind that the romantic hopes and dreams of most young women (and old alike) are now revitalised, I just hope it doesnt negatively impact on the existing relationships between men and women, whereby women who are in seemingly happy relationships might want their "ordinary" man to be more like Prince William.  They may want to change their men into something that they are not!  I mean, I'm sure we have that problem existing whether or not Will and Kate got married, but I just hope this doesnt further emphasize this type of relational problem.

Sorry if this is boring... but its just my thoughts!!

Anyways, to wrap this up, I would just like to say Congrats to Will and Kate, even though they may never ever ever receive it.. but I would just send it out into the universe and wish them all the best that a marriage and a union can bring!

Have a great weekend people!
